Terrapin Technologies, Inc. is a privately held company located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Terrapin has specialized in developing and supporting transaction processing, scheduling and information management systems for the banking and insurance industry for the almost 30 years.
We have our roots in consulting – the business started by serving in an advisory capacity, providing direction for financial services clients on data processing and management issues and solutions.
For much of the 1980s, Terrapin worked with insurance companies, setting up and administering large annuity accounts to support class action law suit settlement, compliance and distribution issues. In the fall of 1987, Terrapin Technologies was asked to develop a contemporary annuity processing system for Principal Financial Group. As a result of that successful development effort, Terrapin was recommended to Southern National, a North Carolina regional bank in 1990. Southern National (now BB&T) was starting their own broker dealer program and selected Terrapin Technologies to design and build a broker scheduling system. Over the next decade that system evolved into the Pandia bank brokerage management system; a robust, proven business tool that includes scheduling, commission and trade account, account aggregation, compliance reporting, general ledger support and much more.
A relationship of innovation between Terrapin and BB&T continues to this day. We now serve clients nationwide.
